February is a leap year, occurring once every four years, which has 366 days including 29 in February.

We have a leap year every four years because the Earth does not revolve around the sun in an even number of days.  The Earth needs 365.25 days to go around the sun. That extra quarter, or one-fourth, day, added up four times, means that we need to add a day to the yearly calendar every four years
